Ever Green System Function and Water Quality | |
Using gravity flow, incoming gray water collects in the gravity sump tank. A float switch activates the transfer pump moving the water out of the sump tank through the five-stage purification and disinfection process.
Two filter housings with reusable micron bags capture small particles; hair, lint, soap chips and the occasional dollar bill left in a pant pocket. Two additional filter housings filled with four feet of anthracite coal remove any remaining particles and suspended matter.
The final housing contains activated carbon to eliminate odor and scrub the water to a sparkling clarity.
Anthracite Coal is the filter medium used at municipal water recycling facilities; activated carbon is the final process used in drinking water purification.
The particle free water then passes through the Ultra Violet Disinfection Chamber where UV light eliminates 99.9% of all bacteria, then into the storage tank.
The water is now ready for distribution to lawn, garden and toilet tanks by our pressure regulated delivery pump system.
A unique recirculation system insures continuous bacteria free water of the highest clarity by recirculating the water daily through the activated carbon and UV housings.
Water level sensors, over flow valve and a vacation auto-fill system combine to provide fully automatic operation.
Visit the "Photo" section to follow the water as it travels through our system from shower to garden
The final water product easily meets the specifications for coliform and e. coli bacteria levels as well as turbidity (clarity) contained in the California Department of Public Health Standards for Title 22 Disinfected Tertiary Recycled Water.
